R.A.F. MK.III Flying Goggles

Stores Ref. 22c/69. One of the classic 'Battle of Britain' pattern goggles. The frame is in sound condition but the paint finish is quite rubbed with brass showing through. All of the frame screws are original and both of the frame 'stops' are in place. The leather surrounds are generally quite good and sound but as usual there is hardening of the internal padding and variable patination to the leather but no damage or repairs. The lenses have marking and scratching and have shrunk back slightly from the frames. The strap springs are complete/very good on the left side. The top right spring has slight distortion. The leather strap is good and fully Air Ministry stamped with a clear 1940 date. Good used goggles. N.B. These are the much rarer A.M. issue goggles, not the more commonly found RCAF type. Stock code G14285.
