R.A.F. C-type Flying Helmet (Early Patt.)

Stores Ref. 22c/449. Size 3. Indian made example by Phelps & co. Ltd. The leather is generally in very good condition - clean, supple and undamaged. A small section of one seam at the back is partially unstitched (see photo) and the leather does have a somewhat two-tone appearance. Fitted with 4 goggle straps only - all in good condition but lacking almost all of the original press stud coatings. Very good chinstrap complete with metal end tip. The Bennett buckle is also very good. The rubber receiver carriers are generally good but one has a split near the \'U\' opening. This would probably glue well if required but isn\'t really a problem anyway. The lining has average even soiling. Fitted with 3 press studs to each side making it suitable for \'E\' series and G-type masks masks. A \'flat-hook\' has been fitted to one side. Labelled inside which is relatively unusual for C-types. Sold unwired and without receivers. Good \'+\' to very good used overall. Stock code H15671.
