R.A.F. 1939 Pattern Flying Boots

Stores Ref. 22c/227. Size 7. Classic Battle of Britain boots identical in pattern to the earlier 1936 pattern but with vulcanized canvas uppers. The leather shoe section is in very good condition with only minor wear and tear plus some paint splattering. The canvas uppers are in good overall condition but do have the usual abrasion/wear marks at the ankle and are really rather dirty/greasy. Careful washing would probably help improve this. This pair is fitted with the canvas type top strap rather than the black leather version. The linings are very poor with significant moulting and fur loss in both boots although this is not apparant at the top and does not detract when on display. The original soles and heels are worn but undamaged. Unfortunately the original leather puller tags have been removed but these boot were purchased directly from the daughter of the veteran who was with 610 Squadron for part of the war and are guaranteed \'issue\' boots. Name and brief details supplied to buyer. Stock code B16764.
