R.A.F. Irvin Flying Jacket

Physically measures approx. 45 so should be OK for around a 40/41 chest. Classic early mid war example with single panel fronts and a four-panel back. The actual leather is generally in very good condition without damage, repairs or patches. Although strong and supple it does show wear and has lost some of the original chromed finish. This could be improved dramatically with some leather dressing. The main zip is a replacement with neat but rather obvious stitching. Both sleeve zips are \'Lightning\' originals. The belt has also been restitched in places - again with neat yet rather obvious stitching. The majority of the jacket stitching and seams appear good and tight bar a couple of small sections beneath the arms (see photo - easy repair if required). Excellent short dense mid brown coloured fur with a decent amount remaining at the waist. The cuff ends show more wear/loss of fur trim. This example has a chain hanger - this has pulled away from one side and there is minor moulting adjacent. It also has the collar strap & rings (the 2 sections of the collar strap are unstitched - see photo) plus the eyelets to the rear of the collar for the elastic \'collar strap\' (not present). A decent strong example. Stock code J16428.
