Dark blue wool peaked cap with leather peak, striped band denoting Lieutenant Colonel rank and braided gold cord chinstrap. The bullion cap badge is attached with small metal clips through cotton loops. The formation number (worn over the wings of the cap badge) appears to have been carefully removed? The overall appearance is very good. There is minor mothing to the crown and some wear and crazing on the peak. The inner leather band is part unstitched. Belonged to Jean Magnan, service number 49127. Magnan's greatcoat and slightly later and higher ranked uniform jacket and trousers are also listed on the website. Another extremely rare item.
