3 sheets, 31 x 33cms. October 1940 dated an all sheets. Luftwaffe intelligence photo/map of R.A.F. Scampton (later base of the Dam Busters 617 Squadron). The front sheet has location notes and details about the site and buildings. It notes iron and masonary construction with massive barracks, residential buildings, ammunition buildings and radio station. It also notes barrage balloons being used between Lincoln & Kirton in Lindsey and potential anti-aircraft fire in the region. Another line comments on the lack of recent identification pictures as these were taken before the war. The map & related photograph sheet both clearly show the RAF airfield/station outlined in red. The sheets are have light creasing and very minor edge damage in places but are in very good overall condition. Stock code P17772.
