Stores Ref. 22c/228. Size 8. 1940 dated. Classic Battle of Britain boots identical in pattern to the earlier 1936 pattern but with vulcanized canvas uppers. The leather shoe section is in very good condition with only minor wear and tear and a little surface crazing around the edges. The canvas uppers are also very good with only light soiling and the usual wear at the ankles. This pair is fitted with the earlier canvas type top strap rather than the black leather version. The linings are much better than most '39 pattern boots with very little moulting or fur loss. Fitted with the original insoles. The original soles are worn but undamaged whilst the heelplates may have been replaced at some point. Complete with clear Air Ministry King's Crown markings and 1940 date code in each boot. A very good '+' to excellent used pair of these rare early boots. Stock code B16313.
