'Overalls, Flying, Lightweight - 1951 Pattern. Stores ref. 22c/1139, Size 3 (ht. 5'4" - 5'7", br. 33 - 36"). This was the first of the 'modern' style post war general purpose flying suits, predating the Mk.1 suit & designed to replace the 'Beadon' suit. It was manufactured in blue-grey windproof gabardine and used rubber buttons throughout. Fitted with flapped patch breast pockets and various leg pockets. Adjustable buttoned tabs are fitted at the ankles with press stud adjustment at the cuffs. The waistbelt is channelled through the suit to prevent its catching on the aircraft. Condition is superb. The suit shows no use or wear and is extremely clean. It is a manufactured in a slightly heavier gabardine than the previous example and retains the removeable scarf at the back of the neck. These early post-war/jet-age suits are becoming increasingly sought after and difficult to find. A fabulous suit. Stock code S18020.
