Cream coloured silk/rayon scarf with hand embroidered bullion RAF King's crown crest to one end and gold wire bullion Navigator 'brevet' and wording 'India, Marion, 1945' to other end. Tasselled ends. Approx. 19 x 105cm. This one was possibly made by the airman himself as a gift for his lady, 'Marion', or perhaps by her for him. Scarves were typically worn by fighter pilots to help prevent neck chafing during combat. A more unusual scarf - well made and in very good used condition. Stock code U18968.
