Stores ref. 22c/2113. Size 1 1/2 Narrow. By Helmets Ltd. of Wheathampstead. 1967 dated. Classic early bonedome worn in conjunction with the type G inner helmet that held the avionics and to which an oxygen mask could be fitted. The MK1A is a basic protective helmet in leather lined fibreglass. It has a simple nylon webbing suspension system fitted inside to give a comfortable fit over the inner cloth helmet (not supplied). An anti-glare visor was fitted, comprising a centre rail attachment and mechanism and a replaceable tinted acylic anti-glare screen. This example appears to have the original silver finish in good condition with fairly light scratching/marking and no major chips or damage. The lining is very clean indeed and the rubber edge roll is really quite good. Lacks the visor track and chinstrap. Stock code H17614.
