Stores Ref. 22c/69. One of the classic 'Battle of Britain' pattern goggles. The frame is in quite good condition but there are some small knocks and rubbing on exposed surfaces. All of the frame screws are original and both of the frame 'stops' are in place. The leather surrounds are generally quite good - the upper sections show surface wear and the internal padding has hardened as usual. The lower areas are better externally and have soft pliable padding which is most unusual and really quite rare to find. The lenses are much better than most having only light marking and scratching. One of the strap springs has broken and twisted but all the remaining ones are very good. The leather strap is equally good with faint Air Ministry markings with a1940 date. Reasonably good used goggles. N.B. These are the much rarer British Air Ministry issue goggles, not the more commonly found RCAF type. Stock code G14358.
