Stores Ref. 21B/1832. Wooden locker as used by aircrews on wartime bomber stations. Made from simple pine ply and of fairly basic construction. Features a lockable clasp/handle (using a padlock - not present) and with hanging rail and hooks internally. It is in good solid condition but is a bit grimy with surface/cosmetic flaws - scratches, marks and bashed corners etc. It could easily be stripped and revarnished or left as is. Air Ministry marked to the rear. These were commonly used to store the airmens' flight clothing and equipment between 'Ops' and can be seen in period photographs and films (see Night Bombers). I believe there are also some used in the flight clothing displays within the Bomber Command Halls at the RAF Museum at Hendon. Super item for your collection room. This is the only example we have ever seen for sale. Please note that this item cannot be posted and arrangements must be made to collect in person or for a courier to collect on your behalf. Approximate measurements are 49 x 51 x 173 cms.
