Stores Ref. 21B/890. Wooden folding chair with slatted seat. As often seen in photographs of Battle of Britain pilots outside the dispersal huts. Reasonable condition. It is stained and could do with varnishing or waxing to improve the finish. There are a couple of cracks - one being in the wood at the top of one of the main uprights (see photo) - this does not appear to have weakened the joint too much and could perhaps be repaired? A couple of other joints are a little wobbly but nothing there are no serious problems. The metal 'hinge' rod is has surface corrosion as do other metal components. Has Air Ministry markings, crown and reference numbers plus a painted mark 'B2/4' . Great for your collection room. First of these we've had for ages. Does not include the B-type shown with it! Stock code M14496.
