By Bates of Jermyn Street, London. Approx. size 7, 7 1/4. Differs from the standard officer rank peaked cap in having a patent leather/shiny peak with a single row of gold bullion embroidered leaves. The cap has light fading and there are approximately 9 small moth holes on the crown and a few more to the sides. The badge and band are good as are the leather strap and peak. The bullion on the peak has light tarnishing and there is some wear to the underside of the peak. Tan satin lining with greasecloth still in place. The inner leather band is good bar a few loose stitches near the peak. Despite the mothing the overall appearance of this pre--1952 cap is quite good. A decent size too. Stock code U16692.
