Leatherette case/folder approx. 32 x 32cm containing a metal frame/backboard with a rotating ethyl cellulose plastic disc printed with night sky features. Comes with with four acetate/perspex sheets showing the grids for different latitudes. These can be slotted into the metal frame and different sections of the night sky are revealed as the rotating disc is turned. Used for navigation via the night sky. The case is generally quite good although worn with small holes at the bottom corners. The frame is good although the disc is a little warped as are the acetate grid sheets. They also have the distinctive vinegar like smell given off by such products. Quite good used condition overall. Well marked and 1942 dated. Essential navigation kit in WW2. Stock code M15097.
