Stores Ref. 21B/890. Wooden folding chair with slatted seat. As often seen in photographs of Battle of Britain pilots outside the station's dispersal huts. The chair is in reasonably good used condition. It is a bit grubby, shows general wear and tear and is peppered with woodworm. This has been thoroughly treated by injecting all visible holes with Cuprinol 5* woodworm killer and wood preserver. The legs have also been dipped for 20 minutes in the same product. Please note that the wood is slightly damp in places following the treatment but this surplus preserver/moisture will evaporate off in due course. As usual the metal 'hinge' rod and other metal components have surface corrosion. Has clear Air Ministry markings to the base of the seat. Appears to be sound/sturdy. Great for your collection room. Does not include the props used in the photographs. The price is for the chair alone. Stock code M17751.
