27C/1920. Seat pack for containing the one-man Type-K survival dinghy. Manufactured in heavy OD canvas in 2 separate sections. Has large cadmium plated snap hooks for attaching to the Observer type parachute harness and internal pockets for carrying the various accessories required including leak stoppers, 2-star distress signals, sail, mast, wooden thwart, compass, heliograph, compressed sponge etc. Complete with lanyard and male section of the quick release connector that enabled the airman to attach the pack to his Mae West. The material is in good condition without damage but is a little faded and soiled. Marked externally 'USAAF' so possibly used by an 8th or 9th AAF airman? Also marked '116' and 824 SQDN' - a bit faint and hard to make out. The pack retains the distinctive large cotton label marked with instructions in English, French, Czech and Polish. Reference marks inside. Hard to find. Good '+' used condition. Stock code S19000.
