By Rand Coat Tailors Inc. Jackets. Field, Wool, OD. Size 38R. 1944 dated. Standard 'Ike' jacket with superb embroidered felt Airborne Troop Carrier shoulder patch. Also fitted with 13th AAF shoulder patch, clutch backed aircrew wing, 'winged propeller' & 'US' collar badges, Distinguished Unit Citation badge, 'Ruptured Duck' patch, corporal (5th Grade) stripes, communication specialist sleeve patch & stripes for two & a half years overseas service. In addition there are ribbons for the Air Medal (2 oak leaf clusters), ETO (with star), American Theatre, Asiatic Pacific (with star) & Victory medals. All in excellent clean condition. Originated from a very good source and badges original to tunic.
The 9th AAF Troop Carrier Command was a pioneering effort that used mass formations of low flying aircraft to deliver elite airborne and gliderborne infantry for the major Allied invasions of Western Europe. Stock code U18110.
