Code: SOLD-543

SOLD

'Jacket - Flying Winter, Type B-11'. By Albert Turner & Company. Size 38. Introduced in 1943, this is the jacket part of the heavy alpaca and wool pile B-11/A-10 (trousers) winter flying suit. The B-11 was made of olive drab cotton gabardine with a lining of heavy grade alpaca and wool-pile fabric. It is similar in appearance to a B-10 but fitted with a mouton-fur lined & trimmed hood rather than a standard collar. The jacket is longer than most AAF jackets giving it the appearance of a Parka-type coat. It has a zip fastener at the front, concealed with a buttoned storm flap. It is fitted with 2 slash 'hand-warmer' style pockets and 2 large flapped pockets in the 'skirt' of the jacket. It also has adjustable straps at the wrist and another at the back of the hood plus an elasticated panel in the back at the waist. Excellent condition without damage or serious wear. Light surface verdigris on the strap adjusters. Fully working original Conmar zip. Retains AAF marked label, cloth hanger, drawstring around the hood, printed colour AAF shoulder decal etc. A super example. Stock code J16493.
