Approx. size 7. Constructed from 1/4" sheep shearling with a seal brown poly-acrylate finish. The cap featured a large stiff peak and folding 'ear' flap. Although introduced for aircrews in 1939 it remained popular with aircrew and groundcrews throughout the war - particularly bomber crews with the 8th AAF when worn with a headset and mask. Overall condition is very good showing only light wear and use. Light surface crazing but not splits, holes or damage. Normal wear and soiling to the shearling with slight loss on the 'fold'. Label missing. The name 'Pete' has been scratched into the peak (see photo). This cap was bought with the black example we sold a couple of weeks ago. Stock code H18285.
