Photograph of B-29 'Bockscar'

B&w, approximately 25 x 20cm.  Shows the USAAF Boeing B-29 Superfortress bomber 'Bockscar'.  On 9th August 1945 this aircraft, piloted by Major Charles W. Sweeney dropped the second atomic bomb, code-named 'Fat Man', over the city of Nagasaki, Japan, causing extensive destruction.  This relatively modern photograph is hand signed by 2nd co-pilot Fred J.
