'Militargeographische Angaben Uber England'.  Military geographical information about England compiled as part of Operation Sea Lion (Unternehemen Seelowe), Nazi Germany's planned invasion of the United Kingdom.  Following the fall of France in June 1940, Hitler ordered his generals to organise the invasion of Britain, these documents were prepared to put that plan into action.
This green card folder contains a local directory of towns, one of town/city plans/maps and another book of photographs, all are 1941 dated.  There is a also a series of maps providing information on strategic sites including a map of major road routes, one showing water courses, lakes and reservoirs, another showing the telephone and telegraph network, one showing the electricity supply network and another indicating population distribution.  These documents would allow the enemy to select their landing points and plan the fastest transport routes to key cities and other military relevant locations across England.  Of the 13 documents listed just 3 are missing.  The folder is rather tatty and stained.  All maps are folded and do have some marks, dog-eared edges/corners and small edge tears etc.  The booklets are also soiled but in good order.  A rare set of German invasion documents.  Stock code P23193.

NB. The maps range in size from approximately 56 x 86cm to 140 x 98cm. One is double-sided.
