P/b, 30 x 20cm., 34p.  Published by Carl Werner, Reichenback, 1943.  A book of Hans Liska's (1907-1984) sketches and colour illustrations from the front 'made available to Germany's friends in the hope I give them a little pleasure'. Liska, who served with the German armed forces, was one of the most prolific Axis illustrators during WW2.  The works within the book are convincing and dynamic, giving a real sense of what life was like in the situations depicted.  Among the subjects included are the Ju88, Ju52, Ju87, Luftwaffe aircrews, Ju88 pilot, Stukas returning from a mission over Crete, German paratroops at Crete, and a destroyed Soviet airfield.  The cover is worn and creased and appears to have been reinforced at the spine.  Inner pages are a little yellowed and dog-eared but colours remain strong and bright.  Now rare to find.  Stock code P24215A-145.
