A very rare original hand drawn illustration of the Supermarine S.4. floatplane. Designed by a team led by chief designer, R.J. Mitchell in the 1920s, this British single-engined monoplane was built for the 1925 Schneider Trophy contest. Mitchell would of course go on to design the Spitfire. The drawing is by J.H. Clark, famed chief illustrator at 'The Aeroplane' magazine, responsible for many of their superb exploded diagrams and detailed technical illustrations. Drawn by him in black ink on thick tracing paper, it measures approximately 21 x 30cm and is in very good overall condition. It would look superb mounted and framed. Stock code P27176.
