RAF escape and evasion compass - early pattern

Standard half-inch escape compass.  Developed by Christopher Clayton Hutton at MI9.  Brass case/body with the rarer 'silver' four-hole rotor and luminous dots to indicate North and South.  Glass cover with bevelled edge (chipped/cracked).  Some paint loss to the case but in good working condition.  Stock code E22723.
