RAF external wiring loom c/w type 19 microphone - part reproduction

Code: H25121

SOLD

An excellent original external type Q instrument cord (wiring loom) with mid tan coloured braiding wired to an equally good original early brown cased type 119 jackplug, stores reference 10A/10991.  The loom has fully rounded 'chunky' cords synonymous with early examples.  It is also fitted with a high quality (non-functioning) reproduction of the much sought after type 18 (19 when 'mounted' as here) electro-magnetic microphone used with the Type D oxygen mask during the Battle of Britain.  This has been manufactured using bespoke components throughout.  It features a copy of the alloy cap on the rear (non-removable), is covered with chamois and has mocked up 'bakelite' mouldings,  The microphone also has the original paxolin 'arc' that spans the terminal blocks and small serrated 'on-off' switch.  The chamois has been deliberately aged to add authenticity.  When used with a B-type flying helmet and type D oxygen mask this makes an excellent display piece and costs literally £1000s less than an original microphone.  Stock code O25121.
