Stores reference 22c/2139. Detachable pure silk lining that fits inside the Taylor partial pressure helmet and separates the flexible rubber pressure bladder from the wearer's head. This was intended to add greatly to the comfort and hygiene of the helmet. It was a simple task to remove it for washing by releasing the press stud fasteners. Undamaged but is soiled.
