RAF external wiring loom with type 20 microphone attached

Code: H10558

SOLD

External flying helmet instrument cord (wiring loom).  Stores reference 10A/10353. Type Q loom wired to a type 20 microphone (type 21 when 'mounted' as here) ready for fitting to a type D oxygen mask.  The type 20, stores reference 10A/11994 has a black painted alloy casing and is often referred to as the '1941' pattern although it was actually introduced in October 1940. It has some distortion, minor paint loss and corrosion of the switch, mounting bracket and securing plate as shown. The bakelite rear plate is cracked.  Air Ministry and King's crown markings to the front face. It retains the original (perished) rubber 'band' around the microphone on the reverse.  The mid tan coloured loom is rather soiled but all the terminals are good. Fitted with an early brown cased type 119 bell jackplug.  This has some cracking around the rim and the spring is heavily corroded.  Displays quite well.  All ready for your B-type helmet.   Stock code O10558.
