By Karl Ort of York, Pennsylvania. Private purchase unlined tan gabardine flying helmet with simple pronged buckle chin strap and two rear goggle straps. Internal pockets for ear padding / Gosport fittings?  Similar in appearance to the USAAF A-8 helmet.  Karl S. Ort  was a WW1 pilot and in 1930 attended an auction at the Philadelphia Naval Yard where he was the winning bidder of large quantities of Government surplus aviation equipment.  From this he established a large aviaton surplus and parts business that ran until the 1980s.  Excellent used condition.  Stock code H21099.
