Stadium 1963 flying goggles. Blue-grey painted white metal frames with ovoid clear glass lenses and a single-piece rubber face cushion. These were worn with the MK.1A flying helmet before the widespread introduction of visors in the mid-1950s. The frame is paint chipped on exposed surfaces but generally good. It is marked with a war department broad arrow and 'STAD 1963'. The cushion is complete and remains flexible but there is some minor cracking visible. Fitted with clear Triplex 'xxx' lenses, one of which has a small crack as shown. The original elasticated strap has a rather worn section but is generally quite good and does retain elasticity. With original issue tin in worn/chipped/dented condition. An extremely rare pair of goggles in quite good used condition. We've had far fewer pairs of these than most WW2 variants! Stock code G25395.
