Goggle for Simulated Blind Flying, 1-F-4b. By the American Optical Company. The one-piece rubber frame is virtually identical to that of the wartime type B-8, completely flexible and backed with quite clean chamois. The frame has USN and manufacturer's markings, device reference details, and a 1953 date. In use as blind flying goggles, these would have deeply tinted blue lenses but this pair is fitted with a clear perspex lens - please note the small crack. Excellent short straps and fittings ready to attach to the studs on a helmet such as the USN H-4 currently listed. Stock code G21107.
