Japanese Navy winter flying suit

Scarce one-piece winter issue flying suit in dark olive drab wool gabardine.  It is fitted with a heavy gauge alloy zip fastener from the crotch to the neck, a buttoned fly and zip closures at the wrists and ankles.  There is also a buttoned collar flap, pleat fronted knee pockets and buttoned side entry pocket slits at the waist.  Lined throughout in black cotton with padding between this and the gabardine.  The cotton collar is faced with rabbit fur.  The material is generally very good bar a few small nicks and moderate soiling.  All of the alloy zips are original and in excellent working order and although the lining is a little soiled it appears to be very good.  There is light wear and minor loss of fur on the collar which has notable colour variation.  The belt is absent.  This mid to later war suit is fitted with wooden buttons.  There is a clear label with Kanji marks indicating that the suit was issued by the Yokosuka Naval Supply Depot.  The date and size have not been marked.  An unmarked olive drab cotton name/unit patch is sewn above the pocket on the left breast.  A very good used suit that displays well.  Stock code S26141.
