Luftwaffe 295 'type' goggles

Luftwaffe 295 'type' goggles

Code: G26096

SOLD

Large oval white metal frames stitched onto a one-piece foam rubber face cushion.  Clear glass lenses and a simple elasticated strap.  These look very similar to the Luftwaffe Model 295 Windschutzbrille flying goggles that were developed in the early 1930s, initially for open cockpits but used throughout the war and favoured by airgunners in exposed positions.  The frames are tarnished but in very good condition.  The face remains flexible but does have surface crazing and fairly minor cracks.  The strap is a little stretched and soiled but does retain some elasticity.  Fitted with excellent clear glass lenses.  No markings whatsoever.  These would make a good cheap alternative to a pair of 295s of Uvex goggles.  Stock code G26096.
