By Nitsche & Gunther. Fl. Nr. 30550. Type 'A'. Introduced in 1944 these third pattern 'anti-splinter' goggles have moulded black plastic frames that hinge at the nose. They are fitted with small convex clear glass lenses (type A) designed to provide some protection from flying shrapnel debris. The strap is manufactured using a ribbed grey-green silken headband of the type normally associated with the second pattern.
The frame is in excellent condition bar normal wear and is marked "NiGuRa" (Nitsche and Gunther, Rathenow). No size markings. The lenses have light scratches only. The strap retainers have minor surface corrosion and the strap has minor staining and has lost much of the original elasticty. Complete with correct tin of issue having comprehensive markings to one side. This has surface corrosion but remains in good general condition complete with original card lining. A very good '+' used pair. Guaranteed original and not one of the Czechoslovakian copies currently circulating. More photos available on request. Stock code G20831.
