Model 295 Windschutzbrille Flying Goggles. By O.W. Wagner & Co. of Rathenow. Designed initially for open cockpits but also used by airgunners in exposed positions, these have olive drab green painted oval metal frames mounted on a large single piece rubber face cushion. The frames are in very good ‘+’ overall condition with only minor paint loss/chipping and some verdigris deposits on the strap connector sections as shown in the photos. The cushion retains very good overall shape and some ‘give’ but is quite firm and has a few cracks above the nose hinge. The strap has quite good colour and elasticity and an unused spare is also provided. Fitted with excellent clear glass lenses and come with equally good spare sets of clear and blue/grey tinted lenses housed in felt pouches. The goggles come with the original card carton which is a little soiled/worn but remains good and has the manufacturer's paper label faintly marked with the date 20.10.42. Stock code G29508.
