Scarce 78rpm recording from The London Transcription Service (British Broadcasting Corporation). One side has sounds from 'An RAF Station (Bomber Command) : Landing at Night. Includes radio telephone activity, flare path lighting, directions given to the aircraft' etc. The reverse side features the sound of the Boulton Paul 'Defiant' fighter including revving engine, taxiing, take-off and in-flight. The label is overstamped 'PLYMOUTH' & 'Bristol Effects'. Some visible scratches and scuffs. Unfortunately we do not have facilities to test this item. 78s were manufactured from shellac until the late 1940s and are relatively heavy and fragile when compared with standard 33rpm discs.
