By Ross Optical of London. A good quality pair of x5 binoculars manufactured in brass and alloy with beautifully finished stitched leather covering. War department broad arrow marked and 1904 dated. Excellent lenses with clear focussing. In excellent condition, bar marks and wear commensurate with age. They come in their original leather case, this is in sound condition but has wear on the strap and leather lid hinge. The case is stamped '6492' and also broad arrow marked. From the period of The Somaliland campaign, also known as the Anglo-Somali War or Dervish War but probably saw service during the First World War too. Stock code M23642.
