Wartime Fry's Ration Chocolate Bars
WW2 Chocolate. 2oz bar of Fry's Chocolate 'Sandwich'. This was purchased by us some years ago in a sealed metal tin containing 24 bars (see photo). The tin container is marked 'Emergency Chocolate Ration'. These bars were obviously packaged early on in the war before the shortages took effect and this is why they have the pre-war full colour wrappers rather than the 'economy' ration chocolate labels. Examples of the same chocolate bars can bee seen advertised in wartime newspapers dating from 1941 (see photo).
The bars are complete and unused. They have storage wear/marking only but do smell a bit odd! Not recommended for consumption. An extremely rare find. The type of thing aircrews may have had access to on base. We have a few bars left. Priced per bar. Please note that the tin and newspaper are shown for illustrative purposes only and are not included in the sale.
