WW2 - Salute The Soldier Plaque

Code: M21013

W: 35cm (13.8")H: 59cm (23.2")D: 3cm (1.2")

By De La Rue Plastics.  Approximately 35 x 59 x 3cm. Made in a type of ivory coloured plastic/bakelite. Has a fully kitted solider and the wording 'For Freedon - War Savings Campaign 1944 - Presented By The War Office To The Local Savings Committee In Appreciation Of Their Success In Salute The Soldier Week' - all moulded in relief.  Once local councils had attained certain targets these plaques were presented and displayed in the Town Hall or similar civic buildings. Overall appearance is good but closer inspection reveals a couple of small chips and a hairline crack of approximately 13cm radiating up from the lower edge that has split slightly (see photos).  Priced accordingly - in better condition would be over £200.  This is a heavy item that will require careful packing.  Collection advised if possible. Stock code M21013.
