By W.O. Lewis Badges Ltd., Birmingham. Civil Air Guard (CAG) lapel badge in white metal with enamelled lettering. Safelty pin rear fixing. The CAG was formed in July 1938 as a way of increasing the number of people holding a pilots licence. Members received government sponsorship towards tuition fees in return for an 'honourable undertaking' to join the RAF Reserve in times of emergency or war. All CAG uniform and insignia are now scarce as the organisation was relatively small and short lived. Very good condition. Stock code U24584.
