Manufactured by Premier Badges Ltd. Birmingham. Officer rank badge. Triangular in shape with a monoplane aircraft at the centre and lettering around the sides 'WOMEN'S JUNIOR AIR CORPS'. Gilt metal with white and blue enamelling. Pin backed. Worn both as a cap badge and tie pin. The Womens Junior Air Corps was established in March 1940 with the aim of providing pre-entry training for the services for girls between the ages of 14 and 17. By May 1942 there were 212 WJAC Units with over 20,000 girls enrolled but that same year the Government decided that no new units should be established. Excellent used condition. Stock code U21633.
