Goggles by Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. of Rochester, New York. Interesting lightweight gogglemask. Steel wire frame fitted with a single 'Centex' glass lens. According to the box, 'Centex lenses were produced from a colourless crown specially prepared optical glass of unvarying refractive index, dispersion and hardness'. The frame is backed with 'sprung' knitted silk fabric trimmed in brown fur. Fitted with a simple webbing strap and clasp. The goggles are in excellent overall condition showing little signs of use or wear. These come with the orignal box which is a bit soiled and has splits to the lid section.
