Sheet 'Zones of France'. Second Edition. Large single sided colour silk/rayon map, approx. 62 x 68cm (framed). 1 : 2000,000. With inset of frontiers. This was the map issued to troops on D-day as well as to RAF aircrew. Marked I.S.9 (WEA) MAR 44. Raw/unhemmed edges. The map is soiled and rather faded in parts and has some loss of detail and clarity as seen in the photos. There don't appear to be any holes or damage but the map does appear rather crumpled. This example has been framed and glazed. The back of the frame has not been removed but we are assuming the map is not attached to any backing material and could therefore be removed easily if desired. Due to the size and fragile nature of the frame this cannot be posted but if the buyer asks we will remove the map and send that alone. Otherwise the buyer must collect. This is the map that everyone wants! Would be almost double this price in better condition. Stock code E15104.
