Code: SOLD-1142

SOLD
'Vest, Life Preserver, Penumatic, Type B-5'. By Willis & Geiger Inc. Date of manufacture is 1950. The material is a little soiled but remains in good condition without damage and retains strong colour. Marked in pen on the left front leather panel "Hanscomb Field" which was the "Boscombe Down" research center of the USA in 1950's New England. All straps appear to be complete but the main backstrap appears to have been cut and has frayed ends (see photos.) Both original zip fasteners are fully working. The inner bladders both seem quite flexible but are actually perishing with cracks and holes. Both retain the oral inflation tubes and valves plus the CO2 cylinder holders (one lacks the screw-on lid.) Excellent display piece for a Korean War collection or similar. Stock code MW16727.
