Orginally sold by the British Red Cross to help wounded troops in the trenches. This is a small length of steel wire from the first German Zeppelin Airship SL11 brought down at Cuffley, Hertfordshire, September 3rd, 1916 by Lieutenant William Leefe Robinson VC of 39 Home Defence Squadron RFC. Comes in the original paper envelope printed with full details of the contents. The envelope is somewhat tatty and showing age and wear commensurate with age. Excellent item. Stock code M16540.
