By The British Parachute Co. Ltd (Elliot Equipment Ltd.), Cardiff. Stores Reference 15A/141 (with canopy). Two point quick connector chest pack. Attaches to the observer-type harness by the engagement of a pair of steel loops with a pair of hooded snap-hooks located on the chest. This example is manufactured in the less commonly seen dark tan/chocolate heavy cotton. It is complete with all the webbing grab handles, rip-cord flap and rip-cord handle housing. The cotton label is marked 'Parachute Observer Type' with a War Department broad arrow, stores reference code and manufacturer's details 'E.E. - B.P.' and serial number '32211'. The pack is in excellent condition bar light soiling and minor wear to the label. It is fitted with the original/correct metalwork for attaching to the harness, correctly stitched to prevent accidental extraction. There is also a full set of bungee cords and the ripcord/handle. The pack comes complete with its original matched canopy (serial no.32211), which was also manufactured by E.E.B.P., is Air Ministry King's crown marked and 1944 dated. The rigging lines are correctly attached to the parachute 'rings' within the pack. We have not completely unfolded the canopy but it appears to be in excellent condition. The attached drogue parachute is also in place and has both War Department and A.I.D. marks but does have a little damage as shown in the photos. Great to find a pack that still has the originally fitted canopy. All original parachute equipment is becoming very difficult to find. A fantastic rare display piece. Stock code S27537.
