Mask type V-1. By Normalair Garrett Ltd. Classic black rubber mask with a fibreglass 'exoskeleton' and horse-shoe clamp harness. The rubber facepiece is nice and flexible but has lost some shape around the edges as shown and has paint residue externally - see photographs. It may be possible to clean this off with care. Good/soiled exoskeleton and harness fitted with the later rubber sheathed link-chains to prevent twisting, these have surface corrosion as shown in the images. Fitted with a plastic amplivox 13100 microphone and loom assembly (Cord Elect Assy. Cat. No.5935/99/999/2774). The green corrugated rubber oxygen tube has a foam liner for sound-deadening purposes - as the regulators had a loud 'click' on each breath, this was picked up by the microphones and was a nuisance to the intercom systems, the sound-deadened hose was designed to help alleviate this*. Condition is generally very good and the hose terminates with an alloy connector (6D/2245467). As used in Phantoms & Harriers with a chest mounted regulator. We are unable to establish the size of this mask. A reasonable displayable example. Stock code O28242.
