Stores Ref. 8B/2518. 1944 dated. This classic Reflector Gun Sight was partially developed by S/Ldr. R.P. Beamont as a modification of the MK.II* and incorporated an adjustable angled glass reflector screen. By turning the knob on the right side of the sight the screen angle was changed between 0 and 5 degrees. This could be used to compensate for the drop-off when rockets were fired. Used on such aircraft as Spitfires, Hurricanes, Typhoons and Beaufighters. Complete with wiring loom/plug and bulb holder.
The paintwork is very good although a little grubby. The original glass is in extrememly good condition and the rubber cushion remains complete and undamaged. The loom, plug and bulb holder are all good but I have been unable to separate them from the sight as they are very stiff. An application of WD40 and careful pressure should get them to part if required. Well marked data plates. A very good original/unmolested example. Stock code M18210.
