'War, Service Dress, Trousers'. By J. Compton Sons & Webb Ltd. Size 12 (Ht.5'9" - 5'10", Wt. 36", Seat 41 - 42", Leg 31.5"). 1944 dated. Standard issue battledress trousers complete with buttoned non-flapped dressing pocket on the upper left leg. They appear to be moth free but there is a small repair at the top of the right slash pocket as shown, general wear, some soiling and small paint splatter marks (postwar use for decorating by original owner). Careful cleaning may improve the appearance. Labelled and 1944 dated. These belonged to a veteran who flew with the RAF but was seconded to the Glider pilot regiment. Purchased directly from the family. He appears to have added his service number in cotton stitches just below the waistband. Stock code U22084.
