Manufactured by E. C. Gravestock Ltd., Avenue Works, Kettering. Size 6 Med. Classic black leather service dress shoe with a leather sole and leather capped heels. The uppers have light wear but are very good and polish will improve the appearance further. The leather soles/heels are quite worn but aside from a small separation of the welt, undamaged. Size markings are visible under and inside each shoe. The shoe linings have light soiling but are undamaged. Each is marked with size, manufacturer's details and clear 1944 date. Fitted with modern laces. Although technically a uniform item, many fighter pilots preferred to wear their shoes during flight as they were less bulky than boots. Very good condition.
